Here’s My Story

I was born, raised, and completed my first degree in Scotland. I have been based in the US for almost 5 years now. I bring my experiences in the Scottish education system to my work in the US and always try to share my culture with the students I work with. I have a background in cello performance and musicology and I use these skills in my work in music education. I take a

wholistic approach to music and like to think of all the many ways a student can be musical when I teach.

Some of My Thoughts

My teaching philosophy is that every student should have the freedom and skills to make their own definition of success in the music classroom. Whether this be helping to outline boundaries for grades, or setting personal target for growth, every student will have different ideas of what they want to get out of music class. My job is to make all of their ideas possible.
